Articles about Daniel Craig
‘No Time To Die,’ the 27th installment in the eponymous ‘James Bond’ franchise left the audience in chagrin. Not in the least because of the film itself. The disappointment stemmed from the fact that it was the last time an actor who revolutionized the legendary ‘007’ played the role. Born on March 2, 1968, in Chester, England, Daniel Wroughton Craig’s passion for acting began at an early age. From acting in a school production of ‘Oliver!’ at the age of six to being accepted to the National Youth Theatre in London at the age of sixteen, Craig’s rise in the British theater scene was an outcome of hard work, sacrifice, and sheer talent. To say that he was once a struggling actor who had to wait tables to make ends meet and was rejected repeatedly by the Guildhall School of Music and Drama before he finally got through is a testament to his determination. His on-screen debut came in 1992 in John G. Avildsen’s ‘The Power of One.’ He appeared in various TV shows in the early stages of his career, most notably the BBC2 mini-series ‘Our Friends in the North.’ It was in 2005 that he was contacted to play James Bond. In 2006, ‘Casino Royale,’ his first film as ‘007’ came out. He was the first blond actor to play the MI6 agent. He went on to star in four more films as the calm, calculating, and charming agent.
