Born on April 15, 1990, English actress, model and activist Emma Watson is best known for her appearance as Hermoine Granger in the ‘Harry Potter’ film series (2001-2011), which is an adaptation of author JK Rowling’s best-selling novel series of the same name. She made her acting debut with the movie ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ (1999), alongside actors Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. As of 2021, Watson has appeared in over 20 Hollywood movies. Some of her other commercially successful and critically lauded movies include ‘The Tale of Despereaux’ (2008), ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ (2012), ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (2017), and ‘Little Women’ (2019). She is an alumnus of Brown University. She began her modeling career in 2005 with the ‘Teen Vogue’ magazine. As of 2021, she has modeled for several fashion brands including Burberry, Lancome, and Elie Saab. In 2020, she was appointed as the youngest board member of Kering, which owns fashion brands such as Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. She identifies herself as a feminist and on many occasions has been vocal about social issues. In 2014, she was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill ambassador. She has been ranked as one of the highest-paid actresses by Forbes and Vanity Fair. In 2015, she was named as one of the 100 most influential people by Time magazine. She is the recipient of eight Teen Choice Awards and three MTV Movie Awards.
