Siddharth Roy Kapur, born on August 2, 1974, is an Indian film producer, the founder and Managing Director of Roy Kapur Films, and the President of the Producers Guild of India. He joined UTV in 2005 as the group's Senior Vice-President of Marketing & Communications. Later, Kapur became the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures in January 2008, and after the 2012 merger of UTV with The Walt Disney Company (India), he assumed the role of the Managing Director. He led the studio to incredible commercial success, releasing some of the most successful films of that decade, including 'Chennai Express', 'Taare Zameen Par', 'Yeh Jeewani Hai Deewani', 'Welcome to Sajjanpur', 'The LunchBox', ' Wake Up Sid', 'No One Killed Jessica', 'Kai Po Che', and 'Rowdy Rathore', among others. In January 2017, he left Disney India to start his own production house called Roy Kapur Films. The first production venture of Roy Kapur Films' was 'The Sky Is Pink' (2019), starring Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar. The production company's second film, 'Yeh Ballet' (2020), was released on Netflix.
