Microsoft Teams: News

Considered to be a direct competitor of Slack, a business communication platform, Microsoft Teams was launched in 2017. Unlike Slack, which is available in 8 languages, Teams is available in 93 languages and dialects. One can easily switch between text chat, video and voice, as well as share files, calendars and do collaborative editing via this service. Another chat-based communication tool for businesses like Zoom, Microsoft Teams has also gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Reports suggest that by April 2020, Teams has witnessed 75mn daily active users. It can be used on Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android operating systems. Notably, Teams is a replacement of Microsoft Classroom in Office 365 Education. Hence, most subscribers to the cloud-based Microsoft 365 suite can use it.
