The newest addition to Google’s flagship range of smartphones in 2021 are the Pixel 6 variants. The Pixel 6 and its elder sibling the Pixel 6 Pro are the first Google-made smartphones to feature the search giant’s own custom silicon codenamed “Whitechapel” during development. Officially named “Tensor”, pre-release speculation suggests that Google’s processor is expected to be an octa-core variant based on the 5-nanometer architecture. The processor is capable of improving the computational photography capabilities of the Pixel’s cameras. The device will also sport the Titan M2 chip for enhanced on-device security. The Pixel 6 is equipped with a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen that can refresh at 90Hz. The aluminum frame of the device has a matte finish that’s pleasing to the touch and doesn’t attract fingerprints. The Pixel 6’s array of cameras includes a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP telephoto camera capable of 4x optical zoom. The device is also equipped with a 12MP selfie camera. The new Tensor chip is mated to up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
