Shahid Kapoor is an Indian actor born on February 25, 1981. He is the son of actors Neelima Azeem and Pankaj Kapur. He appeared as a background dancer in a few movies in the 1990s before starting his career as a film actor. Kapoor made his film debut in 2003 with a leading role in the romantic comedy 'Ishq Vishk' which also won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He received critical appreciation for playing the role of Hamlet in Vishal Bhardwaj's tragedy Haider (2014) and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. Kapoor was conferred the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for his role as a drug-addicted singer in the crime thriller 'Udta Punjab' (2016). Some of his highest-grossing films include the period drama Padmaavat (2018) and the romantic drama Kabir Singh (2019), among others. He has also served as a talent judge on the dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded' (2015). He married Mira Rajput in 2015 and has two children.
