Shoojit Sircar: News
Famous for his movies like ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Madras Cafe’, and ‘Piku’, Shoojit Sircar, is a director and producer working in Hindi and Bengali cinema. He started his career in 2005 and made his directorial debut with the film ‘Yahaan’. However, his second movie, ‘Shoebite’, was not released. After taking a break from the industry for a few years, Sircar returned in 2012 with the Bengali film ‘Aparajita Tumi’, which marked his debut as a producer in the industry. ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Madras Cafe’, and ‘Piku’ were his next three directorial, and all three movies were a hit at the box office. 'Madras Cafe’ also marked Sircar's debut as a producer in the Hindi film industry. In the following years, he produced and directed many Bollywood and Bengali movies. In 2016, the movie ‘Pink’ marked Sircar’s debut as a screenwriter in the Hindi cinema and it became a blockbuster hit on the big screen. ‘Vakeel Saab’ marked Shoojit’s debut as a writer in the Telugu film industry in 2021. Sircar has also won many Best Director and Best Film accolades for his works.
