Riyan Parag: News
Born on November 10, 2001, in Guwahati, Riyan Parag is a right-handed batsman who is also a handy leg-spinner. Parag rose through age-group cricket in Assam in the most traditional of ways - by piling up runs. Parag made his debut for Assam in a T20 against Jharkhand in 2017. His first-class debut came against Hyderabad in the same year. He was only 16 at the time. Parag first came into the limelight after being selected to play in the 2018 U-19 World Cup. Although he did not have the best of outings in the tournament, his selection to the team turned eyes in his direction. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy that followed, he contributed with 248 runs in just seven matches. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals for the 2019 IPL. He had an impressive first season as he scored 160 runs in seven matches and contributed with the ball as well. He scored a half-century against the Delhi Capitals in his debut season which made him the youngest to achieve the feat.
