Born on May 1, 1988, Indian film actor and film producer, Anushka Sharma is one of the highest-paid actors. Hailing from a military family, Sharma grew up in Bengaluru and completed her education at Mount Carmel College. Sharma made her acting debut with Aditya Chopra’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ (2008) opposite Shah Rukh Khan, which was a blockbuster hit, and grossed over $21 million worldwide. Owing to a three-year contract with Yashraj Films, she next appeared in ‘Badmaash Company’ (2010), opposite Shahid Kapoor and ‘Band Baaja Baarat’ (2010) opposite Ranveer Singh, who made his Bollywood debut with the movie. Sharma has also appeared in Yashraj Film’s ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ (2011), and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ (2012). As of 2021, she has appeared in over 15 movies. Sharma made her production debut with ‘NH10’ (2015), in which she also appeared in the lead role. She rose to prominence as a producer with the Amazon Prime Video series ‘Paatal Lok’ (2020). She won the Filmfare Award for her performance in ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan.’ As of 2021, Sharma has received the Filmfare Awards nomination seven times. In 2018, she was featured in the 30 Under 30 list by Forbes Asia. She tied the knot with cricketer Virat Kohli in 2017 and has a daughter with him. A practicing vegetarian, Sharma has voiced about animal rights on many occasions.
