Anil Kapoor is a popular Indian actor and film producer born on December 24, 1956. In a career spanning more than 40 years, he has won many awards for his performances, and among those are two National Film Awards and six Filmfare Awards. His first film in Bollywood was Umesh Mehra's 'Humare Tumhare', released in 1979, in which he played a minor role. His debut film as a lead was the 1980 Telugu film 'Vamsa Vrusksham' that was directed by Bapu. He received his first Filmfare Best Actor Award for his role in N. Chandra's 1988 film 'Tezaab'. Notably, he earned the first National Film Award in the Best Actor category for Rajkumar Santoshi's widely acclaimed 2000 film 'Pukar'. It was in 2002 that he produced his first film titled 'Badhaai Ho Badhaai'. Kapoor has also worked in a few global projects, and his first role in an international film was in the 2008 Oscar-winning film 'Slumdog Millionaire' directed by Danny Boyle. He also starred in the eighth season of the American TV series '24' and played a villain in 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol'.
