Donald Trump: News
Donald John Trump, born on June 14, 1946, is an American businessman, media personality, and politician who was the 45th US President. Born to a real estate developer, Trump earned his Bachelor's in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. He soon joined his father and helped him expand his businesses, which he took over in 1971. Later, he named the conglomeration of business entities owned by him as the Trump Organization. With a $2.4 billion net worth, Trump has stakes and ownerships in residential and commercial real estate, luxury hotels, golf courses, and the entertainment industry. In 2015, Trump announced he would run for the 2016 presidential race; in July 2016, he was officially named the Republican Party’s nominee. He won the presidential election in November 2016 and was inaugurated as the president on January 20, 2017. Interestingly, Trump is the only US President to be impeached twice by the House of Representatives. He, however, retained his office after being acquitted by the Senate both times. His policy decisions in areas like climate change, healthcare, and immigration were severely criticized during his tenure. After Trump lost the 2020 election, Joe Biden succeeded him as president.
